The Central Valley Forestry Corps is a partnership between the Fresno Regional Workforce Development Board, the Fresno Economic Opportunities Commission Local Conservation Corps, and Reedley College. The Central Valley Forestry Corps will train the next generation of forestry workers to address the natural disasters occurring within our forests. The training program will be in Reedley and Fresno. This is a no-cost training program.

Central Valley Forestry Corps

As wildfires continue to devastate California annually, the Fresno Regional Workforce Development Board, Reedley College and the Local Conservation Corps have partnered to create The Central Valley Forestry Corps- a No Cost training program that will prepare an untapped workforce within the Central Valley to assist in the removal of 129-million dead trees.

The Central Valley Forestry Corps has developed a 20-week Training Program that will prepare you for a career in Forestry

  • Phase 1 – 4 weeks
    • Introduction to Forestry at the Local Conservation Corps in Fresno
  • Phase 2 – 8 weeks
    • Integrated Fuels Management Program, Reedley College
  • Phase 3 – 8 weeks
    • Paid Work Experience, location TBD

Minimum requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must have a High School Diploma or GED
  • Must be drug-free (able to pass a drug screen)
  • Must be physically fit for the job
